I found this photo challenge on Pinterest. I know it’s from 2018 but I’ve always been fashionably late. I will be posting a picture on the dates listed for the next 12 months.
If you take part in this challenge, feel free to post links to your pictures in the comment section. For more information on the challenge, click here.
I ventured out into the backyard only to discover we don’t have a group of flowers. There are just single dandelion popping up in random places. This one is growing from a crack in the cement.
After a week of uninspiring photo attempts, I finally searched Google for some help. I quickly found a great shadow shot created with a book and something circular. See the original here. I used an egg ring and my favourite cookbook; The Backyard Barbecue Cookbook. Published by Murdoch Books.
With this dish on the menu this week, I knew it’d be perfect for a ‘scattered’ shot. I scattered rice over the table, grabbed a bowl of yummy Indonesian Sticky Mince & Rice and got snap happy.
My mum bought this locket sometime in the 70s. She placed a picture of herself in the locket and a lock of her hair and gave it to her mum (my grandma.) The locket returned to me after my mum and my grandma had passed away, which is why it’s so important to me. It’s a heartfelt reminder of the two most amazing women that made my life brighter.
I have very loosely related this to the topic in an attempt to continue the challenge. Everything in me has wanted to just give up because the things in my world aren’t that fancy to photograph. I’ll change that and this challenge is great inspiration to do so. Enjoy this very vibrant bowl of noodles in the corner of the picture.
Slam dunk!
I knit this adorable little bunny for my dog Homer. I thought he would be perfect for today’s picture. I used the ribbon and bell that was on the Lindt Easter Bunny. I set up this cute little garden scene outside and did the best I could on an overcast day.
Yesterday, we had a visit from a White-faced Heron. They like to forage for bugs. It’s not the first time we’ve seen one of these birds. He was prowling around the greenhouse when I captured the picture through the back window. It was so hard to get the shot. I had limited room, had to zoom in as far as my camera would go and then of course, the heron had to be in the shot. I snapped a handful of shots but this one was my favourite. It’s kind of mysterious and the shadows are lovely. June 18: Out the Window
This tap needs to be fixed. If it’s not turned off really tight there is a slow drip, drip, drip. I set out to capture the drip for a ‘movement’ photo and 15 minutes later I had this shot.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
I feel this topic would have been suited to being in the middle of the city taking a photo of a building or near the beach, looking up at a lighthouse. Agoraphobia has me a little limited, so the backyard it was. I’ve spent all week taking photos of the sun and today I got the perfect mix of light and shadow with little splashes of colour.
I thought this topic might mean to take a picture while looking down. Grass isn’t as adorable as my dog Homer, so I took a picture of him instead. I zoomed in really close (which is why it’s a bit blurry) and let my camera follow him round the backyard and that’s when I caught him…. looking down.
oh, love the idea of photo challenge 🙂 Sounds like a LOT of fun to do

They are a wonderful source of inspiration. xD I have put this challenge on hold for a little while though. I was struggling to find interesting things for my captures. You can find lots of great challenges on Pinterest.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. =)

Kind of a bummer you didn’t keep the momentum going. I do dig your pics.

I found the photo challenge I started a little too hard at the moment. I’ve decided I’ll continue it next year. Something to look forward to. xD
